This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
so this is my first entry in the actual blog.
the first post I made was in the comments section.
whoops. still getting the hang of it.
I changed my work from "photography-humor" to "literature-poetry-visual poetry" or something to that effect.
this was done in order to appease the people who are anal about proper categorization.
well, here's what I think:
if you think my "art" or haikus or however you choose to define my work is "visual poetry" and I think it is "photography-humor", then who's to say that we aren't both correct?
To borrow a quote from the movie "Empire Records",
"I don't feel that I have to explain my art to you, Warren."
Art shouldn't be confined to categories. Granted, I realize that it is just to make everything more organized, but to be fair,
isn't art an interpretive medium?
Shouldn't it be a matter of perception?
if that's the case, then my work has no category. I want you all to take it as it is and don't worry about how it is defined.
At the advice of many, I have finally started a website devoted to writing haiku, specifically a form called senryu. It is similar to haiku in syllabic form, but different in theme. Haiku focuses on elements of nature, whereas senryu relies mostly on humor.
In addition, I will post a picture (once I learn how) along w/ each haiku (in senryu style) that comments or corresponds w/ it.
Ultimately, I aim to bind writing and illustration together into one element, where both words and pictures can be looked at as a whole.
That, and I need another way to kill time. I get bored easily.
